Drawn to Fight: Zac & Evie: Standalone Fighter Romance, by Lilliana Anderson

New Adult fighter romance

Zac Rivers. A boy no one wanted to know. Always angry. Always fighting his way in and out of trouble. It was no surprise when he was expelled from school and never heard from again.

Until now.

I found him at the Londonderry Brawl, and I watched him fight like an animal. Strong. Controlled. But desperate. I sensed in him a purpose – a need to win – and I wanted to know what was so important to him. The way he fought was mesmerising, and I couldn't take my eyes off him. Then, it was over, he'd won and I needed to leave.

He didn't want me to.

When his lips met mine, somehow, he stole my heart, and in that moment, I knew my world was forever changed. I needed to know this boy. I needed to discover all there was to know about him or I'd never be able to breathe again. No one thinks we should be together. They say his bad news.

Well, people say I'm bad news too.

Then, as fate would have it, I was forced to introduce him to my most fierce protector. A man whose past is riddled with secrets and mistakes; a man who fought his way from the darkness and into the light; a man called Damien – my father.

My name is Yvonne Rhodes, although, you may prefer to call me Evie. I'm the eldest daughter of Damien and Henrietta Rhodes. Inside me, I have my mother’s sense, and my father’s passion.

This is Zac's and my story. It's about needing someone to the point of obsession. It's about losing control, and finding a way to pick up the pieces when everything seems broken.

And it's about love. One that's so strong, nothing can stop it.

*Drawn to Fight is a series of standalone MMA Romance revolving around the lives and loves of the patrons of Fighting Fit, a mixed martial arts gym in Western Sydney, Australia, run by Damien and Henrietta Rhodes from the Drawn Series.

LOVED IT
By B&B Book Blog
Drawn to Fight: Zac & Evie by Lilliana Anderson. The story of Zac and Evie is the first installment of the Drawn to Fight series by Lillian Anderson. The story of Zac and Evie is a HEA and can be read as a standalone. The point of view switches between the two main characters, Zac and Evie.

Zac has lived a life and endured things that no 18 year old should be faced with. He is fighting to keep his 4 younger brothers and sisters together after his mom and stepfather take off. However, raising 4 kids is hard and expensive. After years of taking beatings from his stepfather, the only way that Zac knows to get the money that he needs is to literally fight.

Evie comes from a long line of fighters and she is no different, she loves her families training gym and has been training her whole life in aikido. She is finishing her final year of high school and like Zac, she has had to fight. Being the daughter of a tough tattoo artist who own a fighting studio and has served prison time is not easy. However, the face that Evie got mixed up with the wrong kind of guys during year 10 of her high school career made things even harder for her.

Evie knows Zac. She used to see him at school before he just disappeared one day.

Zac knows Evie. She has been the only one for him since the first time he laid eyes on her, only she never knew it.

When Evie’s love for MMA style fighting draws her to an illegal fight she is reconnected with Zac in a way that she never thought and he only imagined and their love for one another is beautiful and strong.

“…nothing works unless we’re together. The world doesn’t turn and the
sun doesn’t shine. Not for me. You are supposed to take care of me Zac.
We’re supposed to take care of each other.”

To be perfectly honest, my first thought before reading this book was “oh no, a fight book” and then “they are young, I hate that!” However, it didn’t take long before I was hooked and I fell in love with the characters. The story line was awesome, never a dull moment, and I really enjoyed Anderson’s writing style. My opinion of “fight” books has been changed forever and I am definitely looking forward to the next installment in the Drawn to Fight series.

A great love story
By Karen's Book Haven
I have read all three books in the Drawn series and was really conflicted by both the Redemption and Obsession books. I didn’t know which way to jump but after much staring at the ceiling after finishing the books, Redemption won out.
I was thrilled to hear that this book was going to follow the Redemption line because I knew it would have updates on Henrietta and Damien, Evie’s parents.
First off, have to say, there are so many stories within this one book. Lilliana has written books that make it hard for me to review because I don’t know where to start!
One might be lead to believe that’s it about Zac and Evie but there are so many sub-characters that learn and show love – it’s just divine. Lilliana has weaved a beautiful tale of love in so many forms. I love the catch up time with Henrietta and Damien and her parents. I loved the sub plot of Damien’s brothers and sisters and really enjoyed the lead into Hugo and Meg. There’s so much going on in this book, you will feel like you have read five books in one.
What I liked about Zac is despite having some qualities of Damien, he’s nothing like him. Damien did his fighting to keep his headmiles in check, Zac does it because he has a family depending on him. He’s mature beyond his years and has a lot of responsibility resting on his young shoulders.
I’m a huge fan of new age romances and this one left me with the warm and fuzzies. Couldn’t stop laughing at the pop culture references and the romance is hot and sexy but still very loving.
I let out of a huge ‘ohhhhh’ when Aaron made a cameo. Again, so glad Redemption was the line that was followed for this tale. My only complaint – Aaron’s appearance was fleeting (and that’s not a bad thing, I’m just being nosey and wanted to know more about where he was with his life) and how the kids were going at school. I’d like to think that life has become better for them.
This can be read as a standalone but to make sense of the little references of Evie’s parents and their backgrounds, it’s best to read Drawn and then Drawn Redemption.
I was kindly provided with a free copy of this book from the author to provide an honest review. Receiving this book for free did not influence my opinion nor review.

This series gets better and better!
By The Book Fairy Reviews
YES!!! The series continues! I was so happy to see that Lilliana had decided to give us more of the Drawn series. I loved Damien and Etta. Now I am completely in love with Zac and Evie. True to the Drawn series we meet Evie, Etta and Damien's first daughter and let me tell you she is just as strong and stubborn as the both of them combined. Then we meet Zac beautiful on the inside and out. A man trying to keep his family together no matter the cost. He has been secretly admiring Evie for years, not knowing that he was on her radar. When they finally meet it is explosive!
This book is filled with pain, longing and a love that is so beautiful that it will burn through you e-readers. There is nothing worth having that you don;t have to fight for, Evie has learned that love as strong as the one she has for Zac is something worth the fight.
I hope that we get more of this beautiful series!
If you haven't a clue who Etta and Damien are then ladies you need to start from the beginning to meet them. This book can be read as a stand alone but the complete series will give more background on this amazing series.
