I can't agree with these 4 star reviews

Having been a pro photog for more than 30 years a few things I know are composition and making people look good.
I bought this for my new intern to review but having looked at it,I won't bother.

Composition is sloppy and is not flattering to many of the women.Some shots have hands missing.You never have an arm coming toward the camera then crop off the hand.
The women in underwear squatting look like they've missed the toilet. It's not flattering in any form.
Some of the floor photos look like they are in danger and crawling for their lives or they've lost a contact lens.
In the past I've taken seminars from top Playboy Mag photogs and can't tell you how off the mark this book is.

There are truly a lot of poses, some ok, but some with little variance. While it was ok for price, could have been less poses with more attention to quality of poses.

The Massage Therapy Text You Must Have

This is the most comprehensive text written in the field of massage therapy. It is a detailed and complete guide to the assessment and treatment of the majority of conditions that we as therapists are faced with.

Canadian massage therapy education is above and beyond most in the world and certainly within North America. This is one of our required texts and the foundation for our treatment based approach to healing. These authors have been instrumental in the advancement of Canadian therapist education and the development and elevation of our standards of practice.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their massage therapy knowledge and gain a treatment based focus to their work.

Too Wordy and unorganized

This book is known as the "bible" for Clinical Massage Therapist. For sure, Rattray knows clinical massage, but she doesn't convey it very well in this format. It too wordy...just a bunch of unneccesary info. She really could have gotten to the point and written this book on a lot less paper. You can't find some information contained in the book in the index or table of contents. It's frustrating. You find yourself flipping through a bunch of pages trying to locate material needed. I had to take this book apart and put it into a binder, after getting rid of the excess. The book is thick, bulky and the cover is paper, and not reinforced paper or cardboard. It will not hold up well as a constant reference tool. The paper it's written on is thin. If you purchase it, be prepared to take it apart or be frustrated. You can get this one cheaper than the asking price of these sellers. This book is not for a beginner, unless you have an instructor to guide you.

Hop aboard for a deep space good time!

Starheart's got everything I need for a good time: a strong, sexy, vulnerable female protagonist in the form of the alluring and stressed out, multitasking Jess; a tall take charge and handsome admiral, conflicted about her and her shady doings; a mystery, an adventure, and a believable warp drive.
If this is your first Greta Van Der Rol novel, this is a great place to start. Fire up your neutrinos and get ready for the kind of diversion that sucks you into a parallel universe you won't want to see end.

Another Winner from Greta van der Rol

I've been a big fan of this author since I read her Iron Admiral series. I don't think this book is as good as that series but wonderful nevertheless. For anyone who may be wondering, it takes place in the same universe as the Iron Admiral series and technically, takes place prior to the start of that series. This books still stands alone very easily.

I loved Jess. She is a strong, sexy, kickass heroine who still has her vulnerable side. At first, I did not like the hero, Admiral Hudson. On their first date, he seems to essentially interrogate Jess about the death of her husband (not exactly sexy date conversation) and I didn't feel the chemistry. I also spent the first quarter of the book thinking that he is kind of a womanizing, arrogant tool. I eventually warmed up to him but I never fell in love with him. He definitely isn't one of my favorite heroes but I was still rooting for Jess to have a happily ever after with him.

The story is interesting and the universe is well thought out. Overall, it was a very enjoyable reading experience.

The author continues to impress with a new book in a very successful and satisfying series. Romance? Starships? Difficult (to say the VERY least) relationships? Ms. Van Der Rol is a mistress (master?) in her genre and a fine, fine writer. Miss not this one, as Yoda might say!

Important book for today

This is mostly math-based explanation of power generation and distribution ... with some sections and sentences that speak to the non-professional who knows a good bit about the topic beforehand. Sine, cosine, vector, absolute value... it's all there for the engineer... and of course math is needed to explain the AC wave.

I was looking for more entry-level overview of power generation... with more layman explanations... but the ones given were concise.

Despite being over my head, I gleaned better understanding of power generation and transmission.

Absolutely, business and industry and government leaders should view this book to understand how complex the grid is, and understand challenges of providing electric power as demand grows and resources diminish.

I thought one of the interesting points was a shift toward generating power with smaller plants located at end user location, or en route alongside power lines. This shift indicates future focus on prioritizing electricity vrs supplying power to all folks. It was also interesting to note that substations require DC batteries... so AC distribution requires DC back-up.

Alternate power sources were also discussed briefly.

Greatest summary book

This is the most concise, well written, and thorough coverage of the subject matter I have seen. Although co authored by many writers, it is consistent in its high quality and readability. There is no fat here, it is all worthwhile and relevant information. I bought the Kindle version so I can read it on my iPad mini. A great review and summary of the subject matter.

A MUST In EVERY Piano Library

This book manages to touch on many levels. Whether you are a beginner looking for some not-so-intimidating arrangements of all-time favorites that don't sound over-simplified, or an occassional player looking for some easy-to-sight-read standards that have a full sound, or an accomplished player wanting a comprehensive collection of American favorites, this books is it. I got my first copy, a hard-cover edition probably 20 years ago. I used it constantly and eventually the book had no front cover... then no back cover. It was shot, but much loved! Then one day I saw the new paperback version "flat-lay" bound and flipped!! Of course I snatched it up immediately, and it remains my favorite book to turn to when I want to sit down and play "songs people know" for fun. I am a piano teacher and have used this book with some students, who also love it.

If you love showtunes, this is the book for you!

OK, so your friends roll their eyes when you break out into a tap dance, feigning your best Jimmy Cagney impression to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy. But if George M. Cohen and Whistling Dixie are right up your alley, then you are in some rare luck with this hard-to-find gem. This book features the sheet music from all the famous American composers and Broadway musicals. I have been playing the music from this book since the age of 10 or so, so 17 years and two copies later, I'm eager to return to the classics. They're all here: Bicycle Built for Two, Man on the Flying Trapeze, Buffalo Gals, Bird in a Guilded Cage, Shenandoah, On the Sidewalks of New York, and my Scottish grandfather's favourite, In the Gloaming. So take it from a showtune fanatic--this book is a great collector's item!

... I couldn't find anywhere else and the arrangements are easy to play

I bought this book because it had some songs that I couldn't find anywhere else and the arrangements are easy to play. Not being very skilled at playing piano these arrangements are easy to learn and fun to play but have enough notes that they sound nice.
